General
Basic information about AVX and how we work.
AVX serves the Colorado Front Range, including the Denver Metro area, Northern Colorado, and Southern Colorado. Contact us to confirm coverage for your specific location.
Yes. We handle residential projects — home theaters, whole-home audio, smart-home integration — and commercial projects including conference rooms, distributed audio, and display systems for offices, restaurants, and retail spaces.
Yes. Initial consultations are complimentary and carry no obligation. We use the consultation to understand your goals, evaluate your space, and determine whether we're the right fit for your project.
Our Process
What to expect from consultation through installation.
We'll reach out to schedule a time that works for you. During the consultation we discuss your goals, walk the space if needed, and answer your questions. Following the consultation, we provide a written scope and estimate. There's no pressure to proceed until you're ready.
It depends on the scope. A single TV mounting may take a few hours. A complete home theater or whole-home audio system can take two to five days depending on room size and system complexity. We provide a timeline with every project estimate.
Often yes. During the consultation we evaluate your existing equipment for compatibility, performance, and condition. We'll tell you honestly whether it fits the new system or whether replacing certain components would make a meaningful difference.
We recommend being available at the start and end of each installation visit. You don't need to supervise the work in progress, but we'll do a walkthrough with you when we finish to review the installation and answer any questions.
Home Theater
No. While a dedicated room gives you the most control over acoustics and ambient light, we can substantially improve any living room, basement, or bonus room. We design around the constraints and opportunities of your actual space.
Both are excellent choices and the right answer depends on your room. Projectors deliver larger images and perform best in rooms where ambient light can be controlled. Large-format TVs are brighter and work better in rooms that can't be fully darkened. We evaluate your space and recommend the option that performs best for your situation.
Dolby Atmos is an audio format that adds height channels to traditional surround sound, creating a three-dimensional sound field. It's most effective in a dedicated room with a ceiling speaker layout. For casual viewing, a well-calibrated 5.1 or 7.1 system is often the better investment. We'll recommend what makes sense for your room and how you use it.
TV Mounting
Yes, though above-fireplace mounting requires careful attention to viewing angle and heat exposure. We use tilting mounts to bring the viewing angle down to a comfortable level and evaluate the installation location for heat-related concerns before proceeding.
Yes. In-wall cable management is available for most installations. We route power and signal cables inside the wall, leaving no visible cord runs. We assess your wall construction during the consultation to confirm feasibility.
Whole-Home Audio
Yes. Modern distributed audio platforms support Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, Amazon Music, and most major streaming services. You keep using the services you already have — the system connects to them.
Yes. Multi-zone audio systems allow each zone to play independently — different sources and different volume levels. You can also group zones together when you want the same music throughout the house.
Smart-Home Integration
We work with a range of control systems and can integrate with many popular smart-home ecosystems. The right platform depends on your home's size, integration requirements, and how you want to interact with your system. We'll make a recommendation during your consultation.
Yes. Retrofit installations are common and often straightforward. Some systems are primarily wireless, which minimizes the need for new wiring. Others benefit from structured wiring already in place. We evaluate what's practical in your specific home.
Commercial AV
Yes. Conference room AV — displays, video conferencing, microphone systems, and simple control interfaces — is a core part of our commercial work. We size and specify systems for rooms from small huddle spaces to large boardrooms.
Pricing & Consultations
Yes. Following your consultation, we provide a detailed written estimate covering equipment, labor, and any relevant options. We don't begin work until you've reviewed and approved the estimate.
Financing options are something we're actively evaluating. Contact us to discuss your project and we'll outline available payment options at that time.
